In an era where humanity, which once expanded its dominance to the stars, has long since lost its supremacy, scattered settlements around fully automated common bread production plants remain as the last bastions of human survival. Haruka travels through ruins to avoid the peering eyes of the "Church," which advocates eating common bread over any other food.
