Everyone has their own personal taste when it comes to a favorite manga, and there's no question that the "old school" manga of a few decades ago not only have their strong original following but the modern growth in animation of all types over the past decade and change have added droves of new followers to even many of these old school manga. Hunter x Hunter is a special style of Japanese manga by Yoshihiro Togashi. This manga has a strong history and unlike many other manga that started in the late 1990s, it still is in active publication.
In fact, part of the reason you can read Hunter x Hunter manga online is because the history proves how popular this particular series is. Few series have had the lasting power of this manga and because of that, it's still popular and easy to find online.
Togashi's Hunter manga has appeared as a serial series in a magazine called "Weekly Shonen Jump" since early March in 1998. The stories showed up consistently for 8 years until 2006. The story has continued since then, although there would be lengthy hiatuses here and there so it was no longer a weekly release. While this means the stories continue to expand, as of December of 2012 there were 340 chapters of Hunter x Hunter. When split up, this still leads to an amazing 32 volumes of manga content.
While obviously this will be an oversimplification of the plot (it's not really possible to succinctly list a 200 word plot summary of a 32 volume manga), this story stars with a main character who is a boy named Gon Freecss. He originally thought his father was dead but found out this was a lie and his father was actually alive and a hunter famous throughout the world.
Whether it was hunting down treasure, dangerous outlaws on the loose, rare animals, or lost civilizations, there were plenty of adventures available to go on. This led to Gon pursuing his father and looking to follow in those famous footsteps by going on major adventures of his own. After all, the hunting genes run in the family.
The story obviously continues on through Gon's transformation from a complete green newbie to an experienced hunter who finds his father and continues to grow and adapt from there. The fact that the series continues strong after so many years shows that the formula still holds strong and has many loyal readers eager to see what the next adventure or series of adventures will be.

You can actually buy the old issues, check them out from some libraries that have manga collections, or even look around online for one of the many websites that offer issues of Hunter x Hunter online for your enjoyment. On a coaching journey in the Bayankala Mountain Range in the Qinghai Province of China, his father Genma and Ranma Saotome belong to the cursed springs at Jusenkyo. They take the physical kind of whatever drowned there hundreds or 1000s of years past every time they touch cold-water when somebody falls into a spring. The hex will revert when exposed until their chilly water exposure to hot-water. While Ranma falls into the springtime of a drowned woman Genma falls to the springtime of a panda.
Upon returning to Japan, the pair settle in Nerima, Tokyo in the dojo of Genma's old friend Soun Tendo, a fellow professional of Musabetsu Kakuto Ryu or "Anything-Goes School" of martial-arts which Genma passed on to Ranma. Soun and Genma concurred years ago that their kids would marry and carry-on the Tendo Dojo. Soun has three teenaged daughters: the somewhat spiteful, martial-arts, the indifferent and selfish Nabiki and the easygoing and polite Kasumi training Akane. Akane, who's Ranma's age, is named for bridal duty by her sisters using the logical thinking that because Ranma is just a guy half of that time period and Akane dislikes guys, they're perfect together. Both Akane and Ranma refuse the betrothal initially, having not been consulted on the conclusion, however they can be usually handled as betrothed and wind up saving or helping each other on some events. They can be generally found in the business of each other and therefore are always claiming in their own hallmark clumsy love-hate mode which is a franchise focus.

Kageyama Shigeo (a.k.a. "Mob") is a 8th grader with psychic abilities. He could bend spoons and lift objects with his mind from a young age, but he slowly began to withhold from using his abilities in public due to the negative attention he kept receiving. Now, the only thing he wants is to become friends with a girl in his class, Tsubomi. With his psychic "mentor" (who has no psychic powers), he continues his daily life, attempting to realize his purpose in life.

At the start of manga, a scrupulously fair college student named Nao Kanzaki - receives a bundle including 100 million yen (about 1 million dollars) along with a note that she's now a contestant in the Liar Game Tournament. Contestants should cheat and lie to have other contestants' cash, using the losing ones compelled to endure a debt proportional with their losses. When Nao's first competition - a former teacher that is sure - steals her cash, she seeks help from a con man named Shinichi Akiyama. Though they manage to get the better of him, Nao and Akiyama determine to buy out his debt and progress through different rounds of the Liar Game Tournament against merciless contestants, while in the exact same time trying to free their competitors from debt also to get the better of the Liar Game organization from within.
These characteristics enable her to win the trust of fellow contestants in the , although she's incredibly reliable and, initially, innocent. Nao is usually in a position to make deep insights regarding human nature and the Liar Game and slowly learns to challenge others while keeping her power to trust her allies, while becoming more mature and considerate with each round played. She continues to play wanting to save the other players that have fallen into debt although Nao has had several great opportunities to depart the Liar Game. The simply known family member of Nao is her dad, who's in the hospital with terminal cancer.
In Volume 1 because he was reminded by her fair character of his mom, he's only been released from prison and consents to help Nao in the Liar Game. For continuing in the Liar Game Akiyama's motivation will be to discover the actual reasons on the other side of the Liar Game Tournament
The former teacher and competition in Round 1, who had been initially a type guy of Nao concerned regarding the wellbeing of his pupils. Alludes to being clearly older than she looks, age unknown. During Round 3, Fukunaga learns to work with Nao and Akiyama, as well as when Fukunaga completes the round debt-free, she decides to continue in the tournament to assist them. Nevertheless, Fukunaga is removed in the match with over one billion yen of debt and is made to face Yokoya without their help in the next resurrection round. In later chapters, Fukunaga understands begins and Nao's progress to get fond of her, although she still believes she's clumsy. Nao additionally noted that Fukunaga may have a crush on Akiyama. Kenji is a manga about a Japanese teenager named Kenji, who practices the martial art Bajiquan, and his encounters with other martial artists, some of whom are from real life (e.g. Adam Hsu and Liu Chia-Liang). This series primarily features Bajiquan, but also gets into Tanglangquan, Baguazhang, Chen Taijiquan, Piguaquan, Xingyiquan, Xinyiliuhequan, Shaolinquan, Hung Gar, Daito ryu Aikijujutsu, Shotokan Karate and numerous other styles. Kenji's archnemesis is a gangster named Tony Tan who practices Hung Gar and later Xinyiliuhequan.
The series is based on the life of the author, Ryuchi Matsuda (Song Tian Long Zi in Mandarin), who has history involving Hakkyoku-ken (Bajiquan), Li Shu-Wen, and Liu Yun Qiao.
